Mini-Makos Program Requirements
The Mini-Makos Program is our developmental swim program designed for swimmers who meet the requirements for 5 up to 8 years of age.
Swimmer must be able to:
- swim 15 meters unassisted on front and back.
- float on front and back unassisted for 5 seconds in 5ft depth
- comfortable unassisted in 5ft deep water
- demonstrate ability to fully submerge for 3-5 sec in 5 ft depth water
- demonstrate ability to cooperate in a group learning setting
The Mini-Makos program is not a "Learn to Swim" program but instead is focused on developing young swimmers abilities in preparation for swim competition. Mini-Makos are considered part of the Makos roster and our goal is to get every Mini to be able to swim in 25 meter freestyle and/or backstroke events during a competitive meet when they demonstrate the ability to coaches.
There will be an evaluation at the beginning of the season to determine if swimmers meet the qualification requirements. If they are not able demonstrate the appropriate skills they will not be able to participate on the Mini Makos team.

Screen: June 1st 5:00pm
Practices: June 16th - July 10th Tues & Fri 8:00-8:30, July 13th (Mon) 8:00-8:30
Mini Makos "Mini Meet": July 14th 8:00-8:40
