Time Trials Sign-Up, End of Season Meet Intention Survey, Spirit Wear
Time Trial Meet sign-ups are open! Please take a moment now to complete the sign up. Time Trials is a mock meet we host with just our team. Swimmers are allowed to swim as many events as they would like to get starting times for the season. These times will be used to seed swimmers for future meets. We will not be doing relays at time trials. During regular season meets swimmers are limited to 3 individual events and up to 2 relays.
In order to declare your swimmer for a swim meet:
- Open up the Makos Swimtopia website.
- Select the “Meets & Events” tab
- Click on “Meet Entry” next to the corresponding date
- Select the green “Edit” button at the bottom of the athlete list
- Select an attendance option and then select the events your swimmer would like to swim
- Click “Save” to save your selections
There are also detailed instructions on the swimtopia site, also linked on our page, at: https://help.swimtopia.com/hc/en-us/articles/200783598-Calendar-Sign-up-Meet-Declarations-RSVPs-and-Jobs-Shifts
Please be mindful of the deadlines for sign ups! Once meets start the season goes very fast and Wednesday meets overlap with the Wednesday sign-up deadline for Saturday meets. We will open up all meet sign-ups soon and if you’re able to declare all at once, go for it! We will do our best to remind everyone of things that are missing but it would be helpful if everyone could do their best to sign up on time.
Job sign ups for all of the meets are also open. Time trials will take more volunteers than a typical meet (because we are providing all of the timers v. half at usual meets) so we really appreciate everyone’s help! Time trials jobs will count toward your total volunteer credits.
There will be additional spirit and social activity job sign ups coming soon as well.
End of Season Meet (Divisional and All Star) Intention Survey
I know it’s early but in order to help the league with planning the end of season meets they are asking all swimmers to complete this survey about your intention to participate in the end of season meets. The league wants to know if you will or will not swim - the survey is NOT only for “yes” answers.
This does not lock you into swimming at Divisionals if plans change during the season.
Divisionals - this meet is on July 19th at our pool! It will be a meet with Loudoun Valley Estates, Lenah Mill, Kincaid Forest and Rivercrest. Swimmers can participate in the Divisional Meet only if they have swam in at least two regular season meets and legally finished in those meets (meaning they did not disqualify). This can be a fun meet for swimmers to participate in, especially being at our home pool his year!
All Stars - this meet is on July 26th and swimmers have to qualify to participate. There are All Star cut times posted on the ODSL swimtopia page. These are the final cut times from last season. After the second meet of the season they will re-evaluate and adjust any cut times as needed. Their goal is to have close to 3 full heats of each event. It is possible for the cut times to get faster after the second meet.
The league is asking for the survey to be filled out by June 18th.
